Its long story about subj (there are threads from 2003 about it).
Its not possible to use -i switch with wildcard for subj.
-xr!. is not solution if we need add not only subj files but other files (with extension) to such archive.
2 pass adding also not solution: we need to disable solid mode or full repacking of entire archive.
Maybe special symbol/combination of symbols is needed for empty extension (or maybe to point end of entire name)?
More complex (and more advanced) solution - add regexp mode to wildcard. Maybe need additional <file_ref> symbol (to the existing ! and @)? Or maybe as in many other programs - /regexp/</file_ref>
