    Hey Guys,

I tried it know several times and it does not work, no matter what I do: the unattended installation of 7zip 9.20 (x64-edition) on a Windows 7 x64 Enterprise Edition.

I have downloaded the latetst 7zip MSI-Install-Package and tried to install it silently on my computer.
Therefore I created a BAT-file which runs the following task:

    msiexec.exe /i 7zip920-x64.msi /qn

But the installer simply does not run, no dialog, no logfile, no crash-notification, nothing.
But now the weird thing. If I omit the

    /qn

switch, everything works fine - but with user-interaction.

Does 7zip support the "silen-switch" anyway? What am I doing wrong?

    Kind regards,

    Philipp

    Hey gora2,

unfortunately it does not for me. i open a command promt in the directory, where the 7z920-x64.msi is located.
    then i type in:

    7z920-x64.msi /q

    and again… nothing happens.
I downloaded the MSI several times from different sources and tried other switches like /quiet /qn /silent - no effect at all!

    hey pnts

i did the same thing with a software distribution software (novell zenworks).
I'm calling the .msi over networkt with the switch /qn
    \\path_to_my_server\7z920-x64.msi /qn

of course under win7 you need admin rights and/or UAC is blocking it?

    maybe this helps you.. :)
