update files from archive (like unzip u)

Have a very large .gz with a single .tar inside - want to extract the tar only if it is later than one I already have (like unzip u or unzip f). Did I miss something? - surely there is a switch to do this.

Help, and all attempts to google 7zip update or 7zip u only discuss 7zip u which updates the archive, so not what I want!

No reply, so does this mean that 'file update' as in unzip -u arc files or arc e -u tmp.arc files does not exist in 7z - seems strange - or did I miss something?
