When you're new at it, and want to archive
or share files, learn to work with WinRAR first:
      http://www.rarsoft.com/rar_archiver.htm
      http://www.rarsoft.com/download.htm

7zip's sfx-module is only basic and it's volume splits
have  to be copied together always to unpack.

If you want extensive sfx options:
      http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php
      http://nsis.sourceforge.net/home/

but, it's possible to modify the code of the sfx to add a a routine running a application after the unpack?

      And how?

      It's possible with all three.
      As for 'how':
      - install WinRAR
      - select file(s) with rightclick and choose 'add to archive'
      - or drag-and-drop file(s) on the main window
      - select Create SFX archive
      - go to Advanced tab, select SFX options
      - specify what program or file you want to run after extraction
      - when done click ok, WinRAR will create the SFX file

Before you ask questions like this, best read Help-file and
Readme.txt of programs you try out.

      >I'm talking about sfx module for 7-zip not for winrar.

Unlike WinRAR (The KING of Archivers), 7-Zip SFX is limited in functionality.

right winrar it's very good, but it's a 13 years old.
      7-zip maybe 2-3?
And the king it's zip. not rar.

If you have knowledge in C programming, you can probably write a custom sfx module, as you can easily get the source code.

However, if you want an installer, I would suggest taking a look NSIS (http://nsis.sourceforge.net/home)

I Agree...Drag & Drop should be supported...as well as Split-Volume SFX.  But most of the people in these forum's bitching about all this have never bothered to contribute to the project.  Donate something to these hard working guys so they can quit their day jobs and really work on this project.  If you have not sent $20 you have no reason to be complaining about anything!
