i don't like the current explorer-shell interface. Has anyone create a winzip like interface for 7-zip?
I don't like explorer-shell interface too. I think the best way to use 7-Zip is plugin for FAR Manager.
I like the integration into windows explorer, but i wish it was done better. so that archives would appear as actual folders to windows. such as i could open win explorer. and in the tree view on the left side the archives would appear there as folders, and you could click the + next to the archive to open it in the right pane, and view any sub folders in the archive in the left side.
I also think the best way to use 7-Zip is plugin for FAR Manager... but not for compressing.
Why not add (at least command line) compression parameters to plugin "Add to archive" dialog.
to ipavlov: If You don\t like explorer-shell interface, why not make a "alone" version of plugin, and make it "explorer-shell interface indepedent".
I'll improve FAR plugin in future. Now full 7-zip compressing can be performed via MultiArc plugin.
I'm developing stand alone GUI version.
