    You need to run the whole program as administrator to change these settings. It's just a bad UI design on 7-zips part. What's normally done in programs that properly support UAC is the whole tab gets displayed as disabled except for an elevation button, that relaunches the tab in elevated context.

    I have disabled UAC.

    This problem do not occur on 32-bit Windows 10. Only 64-bit.

    I've Windows 10 x64 (UAC enabled), and I do see that problem if I run as a normal user, but do not see it if I run 7zFM.exe as Administrator.

    For me, I always run 7zFM.exe as Administrator whenever I want to change settings, all works well that way.

    Can't comment about UAC turned off, I have not used Windows 10 with UAC off.

    You can't turn off UAC in Windows 10. The slider in settings only sets it to minimum level, but doesn't disable it, and if you turn it off completely in registry you lose any modern apps and since start is now a modern app, you lose that aswell.
