On windoze, the installer reboots the machine without confirmation.
Shouldn't be hard to put in a popup alert that gives the choice 'to complete the installation you must restart your computer, click ok to restart now, or cancel if you want to restart later.'
I didn't try to examine why it wanted to reboot, all I saw when it started back up is 'updating shortcuts'. Can't most installation programs do that without a reboot? shouldn't it only need a reboot if files that it needs to replace are in use? What files would be locked, esp. when its a 'clean install'?

Are you sure that you downloaded EXE file (installer) intact? Look at this contents first with some binary viewer.
