Command line versions of 7-Zip (7z, 7za, 7zn, 7zan)
sometimes
incorrectly show listing of GZIP, BZIP2, RPM archives
(dontknow about DEB & SPLIT).
Problem appears when specifying short form
of base archive name instead of long one. For example:
Archive:
a2ps-4.13-14mdk.i586.rpm
contains file:
a2ps-4.13-14mdk.i586.cpio.gz
Listing command:
7zn l A2PS-4~1.RPM
shows:
7-Zip [NT] 2.30 Beta 28 Copyright (c) 1999-2003 Igor
Pavlov 2003-02-16
Listing archive: A2PS-4~1.RPM
Date Time Attr Size Compressed Name
------------------- ----- ------------ ------------ ------------
2002-07-09 21:01:18 660764 660764 A2PS-
4~1.cpio.gz
------------------- ----- ------------ ------------ ------------
660764 660764 1 files
The filename in listing is neither valid short nor long
filename.
As far as I understand, it always should convert input
8.3 archive names to
long names internally, to avoid this kind of problem.
