To reproduce in Windows 11 using 64 bit version of 7zip as currently downloadable from the 7zip Downloads page:

  1. Have Google Drive installed.
  2. In browser, go to Google Docs in the same Google account as Google Drive is using and create a document or spreadsheet.
  3. On PC, see that a file was created in Google Drive for the above doc/spreadsheet (.gdoc or .gsheet suffix)..
  4. Right click > 7zip > Compress the file (to 7z or Zip format),

You'll get an "Incorrect Function" popup error. If the file was in a folder with many files to compress, the entire archive creation will fail. There is no Skip or Skip All function. Makes it practically impossible to compress a large folder with Google created documents scattered around inside it.

I repeated the same Archive creation in WinRar, same error and more detail - Read Eror. But got Skip/Skip All buttons. So at least was able to compress my Google Drive folder to send it to a USB stick. The Google created files however will fail to appear and 0 bytes placeholders will be seen in the archive.
