Hello,

I'm using Multi Commander file manager and when I try to drag & drop files from 7-Zip window , it doesn't work correctly - 7-Zip deletes the files before they are processed by Multi Commander.

This issue is over 6 years old and when I asked in Multi Commander forum, I was told that 7-Zip is at fault - see authors response here: http://forum.multicommander.com/forum/index.php?topic=3545

Can you fix the drag & drop support in 7-ZIp to work correctly in this case?

Thanks

drag and drop things are difficult.
Some important things are in Explorer(Windows) and there is no full control and full information for the caller.
We must keep in mind many use cases:
    drag from archive to archiove
drag from archive to same volume
drag from archive to different volume
drag from archive to archiver program.
I don't know any "silver bullet" solution that will be good for any case and any program.

Is there any difference between "7-zip", windows ZIP and WinRar when you drag from archive to "Multi Commander"?
Does only 7-Zip case work incorrectly?

I just tried windows ZIP (by opening it in Explorer) and WinRar and both works correctly. They behave differently though.

    1) When drag & drop from Windows Explorer into Multi Commander it shows different dialog than standard copy dialog I see when I drag & drop from 7-Zip. So Explorer probably uses some different way for providing that drag & drop data (or MC uses some specific handling of that when it's from Explorer, I don't know).

    2) When drag & drop from WinRar into Multi Commander it shows same dialog as with 7-Zip. Only visible difference between WinRar and 7-Zip is that 7-Zip deletes the temporary files immediately when the blocking operation ends, but WinRar deletes temporary files on program close.

So I think that the best and easiest solution for now is making 7-Zip delete the temporary files when closed instead of immediately.

Maybe it can solve the problem.
I'll add it to todo list.

Hi, since you said you add it to todo list, I just wanted to ask if this is planned for the final 20.x version release as I haven't seen any mention in the alpha version changelogs yet. Thanks.
