Hello,
Like this report: https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/bugs/1455/#0b9d
I am having issues opening cPanel backups with 7zip 15.14 x64 bit on Windows 7. The error is "There are some data after the end of the payload data". The file type of cPanel backups is .tar.gz.
However, I have established that it is only an issue with cPanel Account backups (ie. those that the webhost automatically makes available on a daily, weekly or monthly basis). cPanel backups made manually (on demand), directly from cPanel by the end user, open OK. I have tested that this issue is not isolated to a single cPanel account. Furthermore, it is not an issue with every cPanel webhosting provider. I have tested a monthly backup with another cPanel webhosting provider and I do not experience this issue. At a guess, perhaps this is down to differences in the "Backup Type" that each cPanel webhosting provider is using (see https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/ALD/Backup+Configuration) ??
This is an issue with 7zip 15.14 x64 (I haven't tested with the 32 bit version).
I can open the same "faulty" cPanel backup file with 7zip 9.20 x64 with no issues.
I can also open the same "faulty" cPanel backup file with Ubuntu with no issues.
Thank you.
