I've got 4GB of RAM on one system. On Vista 64bit I've no problems accesing them, but on XP SP2 32bit, as usual, only 3GB are visible. I was wondering, would installing 7-max under XP give me access to the 4th gbyte as well to play with using "run with 7-max" ?

I have not tested it with big RAM. But it must work. Also you still will have 3 GB limit per one application. But you will be able to run 4 applications with 1 GB per application.
You must use 7-max 4.01. And read FAQ about SP2:

Unfortunately my XP won't boot in 7-max mode. I'll play with it a bit more later today and if still no luck, then I'll just get used to having 1GB wasted in XP until I find another solution.

        - Unfortunately my XP won't boot in 7-max mode.

        What exactly do you mean?
        1) it hangs at booting ?
        or
        2) it boots but 7-max doesn't work?

It hangs at boot time. I haven't managed to test it a bit more, unfortunately.
