I'm told that the problem is more likely that Windows terminals only 
implement a little bit of what it takes to support text-based *nix 
applications, which would explain this kind of issue.

Too bad SecureCRT doesn't work (or at least this version), but it mostly 
works with Putty, so that'll have to do.
