Only Linux terminals support it and X terminals aren't Linux terminals. The sequences to do it are specific to TERM=Linux > 2. ^PageUp and ^PageDown only move one page. That's a limitation of all UNIX terminals. The System V terminfo database can't define those keys (and a lot more). Also: most UNIX terminals are unable to differenciate it. > 3. I am unable to select text. You mean using shift+arrows, no? Is the same as 2. Use ^k-b and ^k-k > I continue to use this editor because it is still preferable to > any alternative. I look forward to your new release. I insist: currently the only way to get a tolerable behavior is using *Eterm* and with my patches. It is available in the setedit site at Source Forge (source code and .deb binaries for Potato). Most X terminals are just missconfigured and limited to what the System V people thinks is enough for a UNIX terminal (which is really far from what we want). Even with that there are important limitations, as an example: the mouse doesn't report movements, just button press/release. It is a little bit annoying. Another limitation is in the available characters, some ISO-8859-1 accents are missing to let space for the DEC frames (used to emulate the IBM frames). The only way to solve these limitations is with the native X version. I have a Turbo Vision at home that can do it, but it will be released *after* the next stable release of the editor. This Turbo Vision won't be stable so I can't mix a stable editor with an unstable Turbo Vision. SET -- Salvador Eduardo Tropea (SET).
