[ServOO-users] utilisation de servoo

Salut ghislain,

D'abord merci pour ta réponse si rapide.

Je vais commençer par t'expliquer le projet sur lequel je travaille.
Ce projet à pour but de mettre en place un outil de gestion du contenu en 
intranet pour une PME.

L'outil retenu, aprés une étude des différents CMS, est XOOPS.
Il a étatit retenu pour sa faciliter de mise en place, et d'utilisation.
De plus il est supporté par une communautés francophone et mondiale 
dynamique.
Xoops est utilisé sur un server local, avec xampp(apache,mysql,php 4.3.10)

Les principales fonctionnalitées de se systéme sont:
- La rédaction ou l'insertion de contenue par les utilisateurs
- Disposer d'un forum pour permettre l'échange d'information entre les 
utilisateurs
- Disposer d'un "workflow" de publication (au sens où les articles doivent 
être validé avant d'être publié, avec la possibilité de définir les dates de 
publications)
- Permettre une getsion des droits utilisateurs simplifié
- Disposer de systéme de notification afin d'avertir les utilisateurs lors 
de la publication de nouveau contenue
- Disposer d'un moteur de recherche efficace permettant une recherche sur 
tous les contenues indexé dans le site.
- Disposer d'un systéme de FAQ.

Xoops permet de gérer tous ça.
Par contre, les éditeurs de texte de Xoops ne sont pas trés simple 
d'utilisations(petit fenêtre, mise en page difficile...).
Aussi, les utilisateurs vont souvent avoir de longs articles à publier, avec 
une lise en forme complexe, et de nombreuse illustration.

C'est là qu'est le probléme.
Un simple copier/coller d'un document word ne marche pas. La mise en forme 
n'est pas respecté(nombreuse balise qui pollue le doc), les images ne sont 
pas insérer(il faut les copier sur le server, et faire une modification des 
url, pour qu'elles soit visible).
C'est pour cela que servoo est super intéressant.
Son utilisation permetrrai aux utilisateurs de publier leurs artilces en 
quelques clique, et ils ne perdraient pas de temps à rédiger ou mettre en 
page leurs articles, puisqu'il pourrait utliser directemet leurs documents 
word ou excel.

Voilà, pour un bref résumer du projet. J'espére avoir était assez clair.
Penses- tu que l'utilisation de servoo peut se faire dans le cadre de se 
projet?(je l'espére)

I checked the helloworl.php script still works and it works indeed.
did you get an account from the address=20
http://servoodevel.revues.org/servoo/register.php ?

did you set the $servoousername and $servoopassword variables in the=20
script as given by the ServOO registration email ?

and did you run in the command line:
php helloworld.php

if yes for all, what's the error message you get ?

i wan't to test Servoo, but i need more information to make it work.
Can someone help me.

I tried to workwith servoo client, but the helloworld example doesn't work.I 
don't know if it's a problem with my user account or with servoo url i put 
($servoourl="http://servoodevel.revues.org/servoo";).

Si i tried to install the servoo server, but it's to difficult for me 
there's not eough information on how to install the server and than how to 
use it  (parameter, configuration).

Also, i don't see lot of users in the mailing list?? why does anybody use 
servoo?

files. (for xhtml conversions only I think, but it could help to debug)

I propose a test protocol:

1/ try to launch you browser on http://localhost/servoo/   enter the 
username and passwd for your user (not the admin). If authentification 
fails, have a look in http://localhost/servoo/admin/users.php
2/ does helloword.php works ? if not you may have an authentification 
problem or OpenOffice is not running correctly
3/  try to open the doc you want to convert with OOo and export as pdf. 
Sometimes the document are juste buggy in OOo.
4/ try again pdfconverter and have a look at /tmp/servoo.err

The pdfconverter script has been much less tested that the helloworld 
because ServOO main objectif is the conversion to xhtml. You'll have to 
track more deeply.  Remember, it's still "alpha". I need your help to debug.

No, I never found how to do that.

However:

Revues.org uses Xvnc to avoid installing an X server on the web server.
We have a doc (in French) and were about to translate it. I could send 
the french version this evening if you like.
But you may find more useful information on the web anyway.

The complete version 0.0.1 of ServOO (server + client library) is released.
It is a development release (why numbered <0.1). Thas means the package, 
the documentation, and the code are far from 100% bug free. However, 
ServOO technology has been developed for a long time now (1.5 year), we 
are therefore quite confident with the basement, the usefullness and the 
cleaning/processing job it does. Let say it's an "alpha mature 
software". It should reach stable status quite rapidely.

Important notice:
1/ You don't need to install ServOO server to use ServOO client since 
Revues.org offers an open ServOO server: 
http://servoodevel.revues.org/register.php (currently for devel only).

2/ ServOO is a free software but likes to also become a free 
web-service. Revues.org will offer an open service in the same mind as 
the open source community opens code sources. Despite the GPL license 
covers only the code (not the service), we would strongly like you to 
open access to the ServOO servers you are going to install.

En fait, c'est le CMS qui utilisent les styles qu'il veut. Dans mon 
integration pour SPIP j'ai _choisi_ les noms de style cités dans mon 
mail (j'ai pas longuement reflechi pour etre honnete, j'ai repris 
betement les champs de la DB).

ServOO ne connait rien au style... enfin presque parce que tout le 
boulot qu'on a fait depuis maintenant plus d'un an, c'est de nettoyer 
les saletes faites par les traitements de texte (en particulier celui 
que tout le monde deteste). Donc ServOO peut faire des conversions 
automatiques, par exemple les styles "Normal" (le Default de MSWord) et 
"Default" (le Default de OOo) => Texte (par defaut, mais c'est le CMS 
qui parametre le ServOO, voir le tutorial). Pour les titre 1, titre 2, 
etc... ca serait plus pratique peut etre. Sur Lodel ils sont deja 
utilisés pour faire du h1, h2, h3 (et d'ailleurs le ServOO peut le faire 
automatiquement aussi, cf la doc). A vous de voir pour SPIP ce qui est 
le + pratique.

Remarquez aussi que le stylage peut etre tres facile. On peut avoir un 
menu adapté dans Word et un styliste adapté dans OOo.

Hello,

I'm very interested in this project because I'm looking for a solution 
to convert word files to 'clean' xml in batch process. So far I haven't 
found suitable opensource solution to do that (although I haven't look 
for a long time). I was wondering if the source code of this application 
was available even if it is not completed I still would be very 
interested (to avoid reinventing the wheel). If it is not possible could 
you tell us when the code will be available on SourceForge (End 
November, End December ...).
