Starting with version 0.6.5, you should be able to use sx:choose in a record 
mapping section, i.e.

<sx:onRecord>
    <sx:choose>
      <sx:when test="trade_amt &gt; 10000  and acct_bal &lt; 10000  and 
third_party_ind='Y'"
         <sx:fieldElementMap field="trade_amt" element="TradeAmt"/>
         <sx:fieldElementMap field="acct_bal" element="AcctBal"/>
         <risk>high</risk>
      </when>
      <sx:otherwise>
           <risk>low</risk>
      </sx:otherwise>
    </sx:choose>
</sx:onRecord>
