La "Serial Ciabatta" è una relays-box realizzata tramite Arduino Serial e 3 relays comandati a 5V.
La scelta dell'Arduino Serial è dettata dalla possibilità di impiegare il regolatore di tensione 7805 a bordo della scheda per pilotare, senza alimentazione esterna, i tre relays.
Un software, scritto in VBNet, permette il controllo dal PC dei tre relays.

La serial ciabatta è stata realizzata per poter comandare l'apertura e chiusura del tetto di un osservatorio, la gestione di una flat-box e un eventuale relay ausiliario, per esempio per gestire una luce di ispezione interna.
