    Hi Corey,

I've made a first attempt to integrate RS485 support into ser2net:

    https://sourceforge.net/p/ser2net/mailman/message/32721695/

As you can see, the design has some issues to be solved. It would be great, if we could agree on ser2net.conf format, so that I could integrate the software in my project.

    Best regards,
    Yegor

I've posted v2 (https://sourceforge.net/p/ser2net/mailman/message/32840882/). After creating a hook in dataxfer.c as you suggested I could get rid of header file changes. Now the patch looks more sane. As to indentation I'm using default VIM settings, that are suitable for coding Linux kernel (8 spaces long tabs). Do you have any profile for indent utility? For my projects I use "indent -linux *".

    I've also created a .gitignore file (https://sourceforge.net/p/ser2net/mailman/message/32840881/)

As promised I've sent the patch (https://sourceforge.net/p/ser2net/mailman/message/32847721/) enabling compilation for kernel headers < 3.2
