How about hooking up to the Event that fires when the Screen-Orientation is changed since the Orientation is changed when the keyboard is opened? In .Net (I prefer C#) this happens in the Systemstate change event.
I don't know your code, but it should not be too hard to implement. I am available for testing if you need someone.

I agree. However I do not have a Touch Pro to tinker with and as far as I know, nobody has documented how to detect when the keyboard is opened.
