New versions of siren_application.msi and siren_toolkit.msi have been uploaded.
Most changes are relatively minor and include a capability to have a Hybrid station with multiple technologies in the one facility. The programs impacted by these changes have been uploaded individually to allow them to be updated without a full re-installation. The programs are flexiplot, powermap, powermatch, powerplot, and siren.
A new version of powermatch.exe has been uploaded to include Emissions Intensity. This is the estimated emissions intensity for each facility which is a measure of the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced per unit of a specific activity - tCO2e/MWh
A new version of powermatch.exe has been uploaded to address some issues with creating the '3D Summary' table in part related to different treatment of certain functions by Excel and LibreOffice. help.html has also been updated to provide some guidance around creating the '3D Summary' table
A new version of powermatch.exe has been uploaded to fix a bug introduced with Batch 3D Summary
powermatch.exe has been updated to provide some flexibility to highlights in 3D Summary "tables".
siren.exe has been updated to add a 'New Model' file to the models list
If your version of SIREN is in read-only storage you may need to run SIREN as an Administrator and then invoke sirenupd to make the updates.
A new version of powermatch.exe has been uploaded to enable multiple 3D "tables" to be generated when using the Batch option.
If your version of SIREN is in read-only storage you may need to run SIREN as an Administrator and then invoke sirenupd to make the updates.
A new version of help.html has been added to provide some minor documentation changes
A new version of powermatch.exe has been uploaded to fix some minor issues with the optional 3D plot created using the Batch option
If your version of SIREN is in read-only storage you may need to run SIREN as an Administrator and then invoke sirenupd to make the updates.
New versions of siren_application.msi and siren_toolkit.msi have been uploaded.
There has been a change to the Models (Preferences) files approach to allow Models files to imbed other Models files. Thus, you can imbed a standard set of Properties rather than having to repeat all Properties. This feature may have a few teething issues :-). Other minor changes:
New versions of siren_application.msi and siren_toolkit.msi have been uploaded.
There have been minor changes to a number of programs to correct some errors and "trap" more errors. Some other changes:
Flexiplot and Powerplot.
Powermatch.
New versions of the three MSI packages, makeweatherfiles.msi, siren_application.msi and siren_toolkit.msi have been uploaded. There are have been some minor improvements and correction of some errors. An important change for those who create weather files from the Copernicus ERA data is to cater for the new cdsapi. And Powermap has been changed to allow compressed versions of weather files to be used. This reduces the file size to about one third the size so can be handy if you have weather files for a large area. Now for a reminder of what the three files contain:... read more
New versions of siren_application.msi and siren_tookiit.msi have been uploaded. These have a minor update to support 3D Surface Charts (using the plotly package). These could be considered experimental and may have some odd behaviours. Flexiplot has been changed to provide a somewhat easier interface to specify charts variables.
There was a minor issue with the SIREN Preferences file so the Toolkit has been uploaded again to correct it. It is possible to resolve the issue if you have already installed the earlier version.
A new SIREN toolkit package, siren_toolkit.msi, has been uploaded. This replaces siren_toolkit.exe. It is in Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) format rather than a self-extracting zip file. If this is a pain let me know and I can create the previous format, but I'd prefer not to. This package is the same as siren_application.msi (see https://sourceforge.net/p/sensiren/blog/2024/11/new-siren-application-package-uploaded/ ) with the addition of sample weather data. The package also lends itself to be installed in a "locked down", i.e. mostly read-only access environment such as in "computer lab" in an educational institution.
A new SIREN applications package, siren_application.msi, has been uploaded. This replaces siren_application.exe. It is in Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) format rather than a self-extracting zip file. If this is a pain let me know and I can create the previous format, but I'd prefer not to.
This is the next part of SIREN Version 5. A new major version is required as the version of Python used by SIREN has been updated. The version update is required because one of the packaged APIs used by SIREN required a newer version of Python. By default (and possibly only) the package will be installed in 'C:\Program FIles (x86)\makeweatherfiles\'.... read more
A new makeweatherfiles package, makeweatherfiles.msi, has been uploaded. This replaces sen_makeweatherfiles_....exe. It is in Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) format rather than a self-extracting zip file. If this is a pain let me know and I can create the previous format, but I'd prefer not to.
The package enables Copernicus ERA5 and/or NASA MERRA-2 satellite data to be downloaded to produce solar and/or wind weather files for input to NREL's SAM program.... read more
New versions of siren_toolkit.exe (full package) and siren_application.exe (SIREN application) have been uploaded. These have the same version as the MSI version uploaded yesterday. These are self-extracting zip files versions.
A new version of SIREN, SIREN.msi, has been uploaded. This is in Microsoft Install Format and may provide a more acceptable distribution for system admins. It contains both SIREN and a trimmed down siren_sample. This version also makes it easier to use the siren_sample in an environment where 'Program Files' and 'ProgramData' are write-protected.
New versions of Powermatch, Powerplot and help.html have been uploaded.
Powermatch contains support for Underlying Load (i.e. include Rooftop PV) and some changes to Batch processing to support Transition modelling (adding renewables over multiple years with different costs) and the option of adding Prefixes to Technology (Facility) names to make them unique for each Report Group (handy if you're using Excel VLOOKUP)
Powerplot has been enhanced with some experimental features including a Step Day Chart which provides a daily step chart, an initial "stab" at a secondary Y axis, and a few other minor changes
A new version of the SIREN toolkit, siren_tookit.msi, has been uploaded. This is in Microsoft Install Format and may provide a more acceptable distribution for system admins. Hopefully it installs OK
New versions of siren_toolkit.exe (full package), siren_application.exe (SIREN application), sirem_sample.exe (Sample data for SWIS for 2019 to 2022), and siren_sample_2023.exe (Sample data for SWIS for 2023) have been uploaded. These are full replacements of the existing packages. If you only want to update impacted programs these will be available (shortly) using sirenupd. siren_sample_2023.exe provide additional data for the SWIS for 2023 and should be extracted to 'siren_sample/era5_weather/2023'. A new version of Powermatch has been uploaded. This has one minor change to the 'Total' rows for each batch report group to append the group 'name' to the 'Total'. This allows these rows to be selected mor eeasily with Excel formulae
New versions of Powermatch (and, pmtmldetail) and Powerplot have been uploaded. These provide support for Underlying Load - this includes the additional load provided for by Rooftop PV. Powerplot has been extended to allow these breakdowns to be plotted.
New versions of Powermatch (including an additional module, pmtmldetail) and Powerplot have been uploaded. The provide hourly detail on how RE technologies have contributed to meeting load, charging storage, and what surplus generation they have. Powerplot has been extended to allow these breakdowns to be plotted.
A new version of Powermatch has been added to support "to meet load", TML, for Summary and Batch reports. TML provide details on how much generation from each technology has been used to meet load. For non-RE and Storage this the same as generation. For RE where there may be surplus generation this figure is that part of the generation used to meet load - where total RE TML is allocated hourly by apportioning the figure based upon the contribution of each RE technology to (total) RE generation. This feature will be extended to the Detail report in the near future
A new version of Powermatch has been uploaded to fix a bug in the Batch report (incorrectly overriding some costs with the Doscount Rate)
