I found out what it was.  At some point recently, it seems that the PC
we use went from stricttap to not.

I found a similar issue from the archives of this list back in 2000, so
I tried changing that setting as the thread discussed. =20

I still can't believe that was really the problem.  I had to
specifically set it to stricttap just last month because of garbled
messages... oh, well, I guess.

It looks like the remote PC isn't ACKing the pages.  You might need to=20
increase the transmit timeouts, and see if that helps.
