Hi guys I currently have a template set up on my wiki, which holds 'Future Tasks'. On my front page - I have it showing by using I then allow the users to edit the page by having a link to the page [[Template:Future Tasks|Edit Future Tasks] Couple of questions: 1. Can a link direct straight to the edit tab of a page? 2. I'd like to have the same setup in a Form. I have created a handover page. At the start of the day a user creates the form and enters what he needs to, during the day as other shifts start they then edit the same form. All the forms they create show in a category that the boss can look at. When the users are looking / editing the page - I'd like the information held within the 'Template:Future Tasks' to display, and for the guys to edit it. This Future tasks information goes on every handover page. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! -- View this message in context: http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/Display-data-on-the-output-and-entry-page-of-every-form-tp5008174.html Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, You can definitely link directly to the edit URL for a page. There are two main ways to do that: just use and external link (with one '[') to link to it, or (the preferred way) use the fullurl parser function: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words#URL_data To link to the "edit with form" tab for a page, there's also a third way, which is to use #formlink, with the "target=" parameter set. I think you may have been incorrectly using the word "form" as a synonym for "form-generated page" in that email, but hopefully I understood the question. -Yaron On Wed, Jul 3, 2013 at 8:12 PM, annaisakiwi <ann...@gm...> wrote: > Hi guys > > I currently have a template set up on my wiki, which holds 'Future Tasks'. > On my front page - I have it showing by using > > I then allow the users to edit the page by having a link to the page > [[Template:Future Tasks|Edit Future Tasks] > > Couple of questions: > 1. Thanks Yaron Thats perfect - I will use the fullurl parser function to link to the edit page. You are again right - I was meaning the form-generated page, is there a way to show the contents of a template on it - without the user having to enter this in the form? Hi, Sorry, I didn't understand the question. Are you asking about how to include a template in a page? Hi, To show the contents of a template somewhere, you just need a call like the following: TemplateName On Sat, Jul 6, 2013 at 4:48 AM, annaisakiwi <ann...@gm...> wrote: > well yes - but on a form entry page, and also on the form output page > (apoligies the term maybe wrong?) > > > > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/Display-data-on-the-output-and-entry-page-of-every-form-tp5008174p5008261.html > Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > This SF.net email is sponsored by Windows: > > Build for Windows Store. > > http://p.sf.net/sfu/windows-dev2dev > _______________________________________________ > Semediawiki-user mailing list > Sem...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/semediawiki-user > -- WikiWorks · MediaWiki Consulting · http://wikiworks.com |

Hi all, I'm testing some features on SMW, but I haven't yet figure how to put an ask query inside a template. For instance, if I add {{#ask: located in::{} | ?population | ?area#km² = Size in km² }} Inside a template, it will transclude the category, instead of performing the query. Any help here ? Best regards, Tiago Ferreira |

Thanks again. This means the info is now showing on the Form Input page, but not on the output page. In Form:PNTH Handover I have <big>Future Tasks</big> which shows on my Special:FormEdit/PNTH_CT_Handover page (form input page) like this: <http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/file/n5008309/pic1.jpg> but it doesn't show on the page that is created when clicking on save. How do I get it showing on this page too? Is it something to do with transclusions? -- View this message in context: http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/Display-data-on-the-output-and-entry-page-of-every-form-tp5008174p5008309.html Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi Tiago, That should work. What's the value being passed in to {}? Hi, You don't actually need the "Template:" when calling a template - you could just have: PNTH Yard TL Future Tasks Just add that call in to whatever template the form is placing in pages. -Yaron On Sun, Jul 7, 2013 at 7:43 PM, annaisakiwi <ann...@gm...> wrote: > Thanks again. > > This means the info is now showing on the Form Input page, but not on the > output page. > > In Form:PNTH Handover > I have > <big>Future Tasks</big> > > > which shows on my Special:FormEdit/PNTH_CT_Handover page (form input page) > like this: > > <http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/file/n5008309/pic1.jpg> > > but it doesn't show on the page that is created when clicking on save. > How do I get it showing on this page too? > > Is it something to do with transclusions? > > > > > > -- > View this message in context: > http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/Display-data-on-the-output-and-entry-page-of-every-form-tp5008174p5008309.html > Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > This SF.net email is sponsored by Windows: > > Build for Windows Store. > > http://p.sf.net/sfu/windows-dev2dev > _______________________________________________ > Semediawiki-user mailing list > Sem...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/semediawiki-user > -- WikiWorks · MediaWiki Consulting · http://wikiworks.com |

Hi, I just found out the problem. On regular uses, it works ok, but when used as a format template, categories get transcluded. For instance, for the template |Network::{};?IP on Network {}={} both the category and the property are lost. Hi, Again, that problem shouldn't be happening. My guess is that there's an issue with either the value being passed in to {}, or with the formatting template being used. -Yaron On Mon, Jul 8, 2013 at 5:23 PM, Tiago Ferreira <ta...@gm...> wrote: > Hi, > > I just found out the problem. > > On regular uses, it works ok, but when used as a format template, > categories get transcluded. > > For instance, for the template > |Network::{};?IP on Network {}={} > > both the category and the property are lost. > > On Jul 8, 2013, at 3:14 AM, Yaron Koren wrote: > > > Hi Tiago, > > > > That should work. thanks Yaron Unfortunately still doesn't quiet do what I want it to - but i'm not sure that it is possible. On the form-generated page I want to have a section that can be added to when creating the form but on form generated pages that were previously created, they wouldn't change. Eg. on page 'ABC - 20 July' * Create desk on 21 July * Create table on 23 July then on the 21st a new page is created on page 'ABC - 21 July' * Create desk on 21 July done (user added information to current task) * Create table on 23 July * Create chair on 25th July (User added in a new task) then on the 22nd a new page is created on page 'ABC - 22 July' (user deleted out note from 21 July) * Create table on 23 July * Create chair on 25th July I think I should be showing template contents / and having link to edit it somehow? but I want the previous pages to stay as they were entered (like a snapshot) - so the information shouldn't all be the same on every page. Does this make sense? -- View this message in context: http://wikimedia.7.x6.nabble.com/Display-data-on-the-output-and-entry-page-of-every-form-tp5008174p5009330.html Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
