For some reason the domain was not localhost but localhost.localdomain (and that user was not correctly permissioned). If you're still having this problem, you can use the #set function, as discussed recently on this list. -Yaron On Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 6:23 AM, Venicewiki <info@...> wrote: > As another user stated, after upgrading from Semantic Mediawiki 1.2 to 1.3 > the brackets in properties values are not parsed correctly. > > For example [[Description::this is a link ]] renders > [[Description::this is a link > > Any fix? > > Thank you > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > This SF.net email is sponsored by: > SourcForge Community > SourceForge wants to tell your story. > http://p.sf.net/sfu/sf-spreadtheword > _______________________________________________ > Semediawiki-user mailing list > Semediawiki-user@... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/semediawiki-user > > |

John, The user has all the right permissions? In addition to any semantic mediawiki debugging tips you get, try 'show processlist\G' in mysql On Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 2:01 PM, John Major <john.e.major.jr@...>wrote: > Hello- > > I am installing SMW on an Ubuntu(heron) Linux box, and am having > trouble initializing the database from the SMWAdmin page... > > According to the Version page, all required s/w is properly installed > in MediaWiki: > MySQL 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.3 > PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.4 > > Mediawiki v 1.13.3 > ParserFunctions v 1.1.1 > Semantic MediaWiki v 1.4.1 > StringFunctions v 2.0.3 > > The database user and p/w are correct, and MediaWiki was able to > install with no problem. > > When I run the SMWAdmin 'Initialize or upgrade tables' tool, I get the > following output: > > Setting up standard database configuration for SMW... > Selected storage engine is "SMWSQLStore2" (or an extension thereof) > Setting up table 'SW_smw_ids' ... > > And it hangs there and never progresses. > If I rerun the script, the same thing happens. > > Any help in getting this last hurdle overcome is greatly appreciated. > > Cheers, > John > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > This SF.net email is sponsored by: > SourcForge Community > SourceForge wants to tell your story. > http://p.sf.net/sfu/sf-spreadtheword > _______________________________________________ > Semediawiki-user mailing list > Semediawiki-user@... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/semediawiki-user > |

Hello- I am installing SMW on an Ubuntu(heron) Linux box, and am having trouble initializing the database from the SMWAdmin page... According to the Version page, all required s/w is properly installed in MediaWiki: MySQL 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.3 PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.4 Mediawiki v 1.13.3 ParserFunctions v 1.1.1 Semantic MediaWiki v 1.4.1 StringFunctions v 2.0.3 The database user and p/w are correct, and MediaWiki was able to install with no problem. When I run the SMWAdmin 'Initialize or upgrade tables' tool, I get the following output: Setting up standard database configuration for SMW... Selected storage engine is "SMWSQLStore2" (or an extension thereof) Setting up table 'SW_smw_ids' ... And it hangs there and never progresses. If I rerun the script, the same thing happens. Any help in getting this last hurdle overcome is greatly appreciated. Cheers, John |

In fact, I believe this is a critical issue. DB <-> SemWiki data porting will be very useful and proper tools should be available. However, as far as I know, there is no such ready tool yet. My team has been thinking about doing this. We'd like to join with others who share the similar interest. I could be wrong about this, but I don't believe underscores exist in mediawiki - have you tried the query with a space instead? Let me guess, you didn't read the manual and are trying to use commas to list multiple values without looking on the proper way to do an or query? Commas are taken as literal values, || is used inside of a block to separate multiple values. Or if you were trying to do an AND: ~Daniel Friesen (Dantman, Nadir-Seen-Fire) -Nadir-Point (http://nadir-point.com) -Wiki-Tools (http://wiki-tools.com) -Animepedia (http://anime.wikia.com) -Narutopedia (http://naruto.wikia.com) -Soul Eater Wiki (http://souleater.wikia.com) Jason Zou wrote: > Hi everyone, > > I am new to this list and semantic wiki. Hi folks,I've been using SMW since 0.7 behind the corporate firewall and have been lurking in the background. After attending the first SMW User Group Meeting, got revved up again and decided to start giving back. Using SMW in the corporate setting, its no secret that half the success of any intranet initiative is adoption (and I know that first-hand from experience and a couple of "ghost town" intranets). Apart from usability - there's also another vital component - nice and pretty charts - at least for the mgmt types :) Joking aside - here it is - SRF-Ploticus. ( http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/extensions/SemanticResultFormats/Ploticus/ ) See http://ploticus.sourceforge.net to find out more about Ploticus. The SRF-Ploticus Help/Gallery minisite is currently being built that's why I'm just pointing to viewvc for now. But the README is pretty thorough and using the result printer is pretty straightforward once you get up to speed with Ploticus. It's a first installment and I'm already working on some improvements. (the upcoming help/gallery minisite will have the roadmap) The project started out of the need for some canned reports for - (wait for it) mgmt types, and tables were just not cutting it. SRF-Googlepie and Googlechart were non-starters as well coz of security concerns. Yaron just checked in the code in SVN and I look forward to all your feedback. Enjoy! Joel P.S. Hi everyone, I am new to this list and semantic wiki. I tried to use inline query but found out that it seems that commas are not allowed in a query. The problem query is very simple as follows: My other queries without commas work fine. Is this a bug or is the query designed this way? Thanks, Jason |

Has there been any more progress on this, or is it considered a quirk of SMW that we shouldn't be messing with? I have tried several different ways around the problem but can find no workable ways to return the hierarchy of set of pages. This would be so useful as our Wiki grows. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Iterating-queries---go-%27phut%27-at-3rd-iteration-tp20915048p21458522.html Sent from the Semantic Mediawiki - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, I have tried to use arraymap in this situation but this doesn't solve my problem as the values for the property may themselves *contain* the delimiter (eg commas). I can see that when there is more than one value for a property on the same page SMW 'sees' the separation (there is always a space between the values) but I don't see how I can extract each value using the #ask result which delimits with a ', ' when such a pattern may also be in a value. Any help welcome - and sorry if I have overlooked the obvious. The #Property function Markus described in a recent message seems to work too for non-page type property values with brackets in them: Gu Quoting Brian <Brian.Mingus@...>: > How do you suggest I deal with the following situation? Hi Philipp, Thanks for the info. I've "successfully" installed the Halo extension but I have several questions. I know this isn't really the right place to post the questions. However, I can't register a new user as the IP address was previously banned. I downloaded the zip file from sf.net and followed instructions (http://smwforum.ontoprise.com/smwforum/index.php/Manual_SMW%2B_Installation). The ontology browser is working. However, I have a few questions. *. In the apache log, I get a lot of the "file does not exist" error for "extensions/SMWHalo/skins/Glossary". It's apparently not in the package (nor in the svn repo, I just did a check out). Where can I get it? [Wed Jan 14 15:46:10 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/mediawiki/extensions/SMWHalo/skins/Glossary, referer: http://localhost/mediawiki/index.php/Special:Version *. In the apache log, I also get the "file doesn't exist" error for lightbulb.css: [Wed Jan 14 15:46:10 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/mediawiki/skins/lightbulb.css, referer: http://localhost/mediawiki/index.php/Special:Version *. The same thing for niftyCorners.css. It is in skins/ontoskin2/, but mediawiki seems to think it's under root directory. *. Is it possible to reassign the category of an instance in the ontology browser page? *. When I use ontoskin2, the wgLogo image overlaps with the breadcrumbs. My mediawiki is version 1.13.3 (latest) and semantic mediawiki is version 1.4.1 (latest as well). Thanks for looking! Try the #set parser function, discussed on this list last week - the call is "". (By the way, Daniel, perhaps this is a good example of why there should be a non-silent option for #set? :) ) -Yaron On Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 7:30 PM, Brian <Brian.Mingus@...> wrote: > How do you suggest I deal with the following situation? How do you suggest I deal with the following situation? I would like to keep the original data intact, and yet it contains many brackets. This string is not properly parsed by SMW. [[abstract::In the present study, a novel and exceptionally sensitive method of high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to coulometric detection, together with concentric dialysis probes, was exploited for an examination of the role of autoreceptors and heteroceptors in the modulation of dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin levels in single samples of the frontal cortex of freely-moving rats. The selective D3/D2 receptor agonist, CGS 15855A [(+/-)-trans-1,3,4,4a,5,10b-hexahydro-4-propyl-2H-[1]benzopyrano[3 ,4-b]-pyridin-9-ol], and antagonist, raclopride, respectively decreased (-50%) and increased (+60%) levels of dopamine without significantly modifying those of serotonin and noradrenaline. The selective alpha2-adrenergic receptor agonist, dexmedetomidine, markedly decreased noradrenaline levels (-100%) and likewise suppressed those of serotonin and dopamine by -55 and -45%, respectively. This effect was mimicked by the preferential alpha2-adrenergic receptor agonist, guanabenz (-100%, -60% and -50%). Furthermore, the alpha2-adrenergic receptor antagonist, RX 821,002 [2(2-methoxy-1,4-benzodioxan-2-yl)-2-imidazoline], and the preferential alpha2A-adrenergic receptor antagonist, BRL 44408 [2-(2H-(1-methyl-1,3-dihydroisoindole)methyl)-4,5-dihydroimidaz ole], both evoked a pronounced elevation in levels of noradrenaline (+212%, +109%) and dopamine (+73%, +85%). In contrast, the preferential alpha(2B/2C)-adrenergic receptor antagonist, prazosin, did not modify noradrenaline and dopamine levels. RX 821,002 and BRL 44408 did not significantly modify levels of serotonin, whereas prazosin decreased these levels markedly (-55%), likely due to its alpha1-adrenergic receptor antagonist properties. The selective serotonin-1A receptor agonist, 8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)-tetralin (8-OH-DPAT), reduced serotonin levels (-65%) and increased those of dopamine and noradrenaline by +100%), and +175%, respectively. The selective serotonin-1A antagonist, WAY 100,635 [N-[2-[4-(2-methoxyphenyl)-1-piperazinyl]ethyl]-N-(2-pyridinyl)cyclo- hexanecarboxamide], which had little affect on monoamine levels alone, abolished the influence of 8-OH-DPAT upon serotonin and dopamine levels and significantly attenuated its influence upon noradrenaline levels. Finally, the selective serotonin-1B agonist, GR 46611 [3-[3-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-1H-indol-5-yl]-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)acrylamid e], decreased serotonin levels (-49%) and the serotonin-1B antagonist, GR 127,935 [N-[4-methoxy-3-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)phenyl]-2'-methyl-4'-(5-me thyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-biphenyl-4-carboxamide], which did not significantly modify serotonin levels alone, abolished this action of GR 46611. Levels of dopamine and noradrenaline were not affected by GR 46611 or GR 127,935. In conclusion, there is a complex pattern of reciprocal autoreceptor and heteroceptor control of monoamine release in the frontal cortex. Most notably, activation of alpha2-adrenergic receptors inhibits the release of noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin in each case, while stimulation of serotonin-1A receptors suppresses serotonin, yet facilitates noradrenaline and dopamine release. In addition, dopamine D2/D3 autoreceptors restrain dopamine release while (terminal-localized) serotonin-1B receptors reduce serotonin release.
