I am developing a new mediawiki extension for enabling RDFa output with
My goal is to make it compatible with SMW so that a user can use both or
switch from one to another
Right now it is working but it is not fully compatible with SMW,
I have some issues with '::' parsing, explained on the extension page.
Anyway, I wanted to hear your opinion on this and/or any suggestions
I was thinking of my extension as a more lightweight approach
or better, a step before SMW, since it *does not have SMW as a dependency*.
You see the whole functionality of my extension is provided only from 3
hooks (LinkBegin, OutputPageBodyAttributes, BeforePageDisplay)
SMW is a very powerfull tool that not everyone can handle, however, giving
the ability to a non-SW user to annotate links could be a first step.
The only concern I have is to be as compatible as I can get with the SMW
For instance, right now the '::' escape sring is not supported
So I wanted your feedback in general for the idea or specific suggestions

Sure, then SMW needs to have RDFa support though, whihc I why I thought
that RFC might be of interest to you :)

You can look at SMWQueryParser to see how SMW does this.
