I have been looking for a way to bring sidebar into Google maps for Mediawiki. Now I have developed a decent solution. There's a parser called GeoXML v3, different from GeoXml3, that would create a map with sidebar with KML. Now I have created an extension/widget with the widget extension to integrate it with Mediawiki. Example can be found at http://www.transitunlimited.org/Sandbox The parser is pretty good and I am pleased with the result. It can be integrated with SMW by "exporting" the geographic data to KML and use the KML link as the file to be processed by the parser. The things that SMW needs to improve upon is a easy way to get the KML link and to add a "name" tag to the KML so that the parser won't have yo show the file name, which I'd really long and ugly if it is an export string from SMW, which you can see in the example. It is a work in progress, so more information will be given once it is more developed. Andy Sent from Yahoo! Mail on Android |
