[Semediawiki-user] [SIO] Using SIO to store statistical information and display them as a graph (jqplotbar etc.)

[Semediawiki-user] [SIO] Using SIO to store statistical information and display them as a graph (jqplotbar etc.) From: James Hong Kong - 2011-08-04 04:46:12 ```Hi, Before embarking on the journey to use SRF to display some statistical data, I wanted to clarify if it was possible to display graphs ( jqplotbar) based on an SIO query? Non-SIO solution In general I would assume that for every property/value pair that is stored as a single page one can use a standard query for those values and display them with jqplotbar / jqplotpie. {{#ask:[[...]] |?Contribution count |format=jqplotbar |bardirection=vertical |barcolor=#5f3705 }} SIO solution ? Instead of using singles pages that represent singles values, large tables with values in a 2x2 matrix would mean a great deal of effort to create those values as single page. Would it be possible to maintain SIO objects for those table elements (identifier represented as row column) and generate graphs based on a SIO query. Cheers, MWJames ```

SIO data can be queried in the same way as regular SMW data - the only difference (at least, theoretically) is that internal objects don't correspond to an actual wiki page. -Yaron On Thu, Aug 4, 2011 at 12:45 AM, James Hong Kong < jamesin.hongkong.1@...> wrote: > Hi, > > Before embarking on the journey to use SRF to display some statistical > data, I wanted to clarify if it was possible to display graphs ( > jqplotbar) based on an SIO query? > > Non-SIO solution > > In general I would assume that for every property/value pair that is > stored as a single page one can use a standard query for those values > and display them with jqplotbar / jqplotpie. > > {{#ask:[[...]] > |?Contribution count > |format=jqplotbar > |bardirection=vertical > |barcolor=#5f3705 > }} > > SIO solution ? > > Instead of using singles pages that represent singles values, large > tables with values in a 2x2 matrix would mean a great deal of effort > to create those values as single page. Re: [Semediawiki-user] [SIO] Using SIO to store statistical information and display them as a graph (jqplotbar etc.) From: Jeroen De Dauw - 2011-08-04 13:32:18 ```Hey, Once you stored the data on a single wiki pages, do you want to display data of only a single such page, or display data from multiple such pages (based on query page selection)? Like Yaron noted, the former is definitely possible. I'm not quite sure about the later. That SIO handles those objects stored in your page as actual pages might make it impossible. In that case the container type of SMW might be better. Cheers -- Jeroen De Dauw http://www.bn2vs.com Don't panic. Don't be evil. -- ```
