That's part of the Semantic Drilldown extension. That definitely sounds like a bug; I haven't heard of something like that happening before. What versions of SMW and SD are you using? Unfortunately, if the wiki isn't public, I don't know how much more help I can provide... I honestly can't think of what could be causing this.
