A value like "January 1" is not valid for dates - there has to be year attached; that could be causing the issue.

I was attempting the exact same thing (property inheritance), but now I just
want to display the inherited property.  As this doesn't work, I think my

Demonstration URL .  On that page, "January 1" should appear between the red
exclamation marks.  (Yes, I know that date's completely false.)  When the
page is viewed as normal, the property name and value appear in the factbox.

Note that I've tried this on different pages, purged pages, and resaved
pages trying to find a solution.
