No, unfortunately you have to do it as an external link. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to create a parser function that created such a link... I'll put that down as a feature request.

Is there a convenient way to link to Special:BrowseData such that a filter, subcategory, or some combination thereof is already selected?  I can copy-paste the url to the Browse page with filters selected, but then I have to create my link as an external link, which looks wrong when the page with the link is rendered.  (It would give the impression to my users that clicking that link will take them away from my wiki.)  I can't just use the back portion of the URL starting with "Special:BrowseData"; that link doesn't work.
