dear Jean-Paul, now I want to study the fault from surface 0f earth to 10000m below the surface ,I set the Tn is linear from 0 to 100Mpa,Tt is linear from 0 to 40 MPa , the other parameter is like the Par.inp. the fault will broke at first .
If your intention is to set initial normal stresses that are compressive on the fault, the values of TnH should be negative. The sign convention is explained in page 33 of the manual as "Initial normal traction (positive = tensile)". This means negative = compressive.
