True, but they at least require some advanced knowledge of using the
forum features, thus I would be optimistic they could be used mainly
by users whoh know what they do.
Maybe "dependent archiving" might be available as some configuration
parameter of the forum software

This might indeed help to handle problem no. 2, but would make most
sense if problem no. 3 was solved, too.
Don't forget that the archiving criteria might even change between the
two archiving events being applied to these two threads.
