Apache problem?

I installed snort and BASE on an FC6 machin. Snort runs fine, but I cannot access BASE. Its installed in "base" directory under /var/www/html/. When I access it, I get "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access /base on this server". This is strange since, for example, I have mediawiki installed in the same directory tree and it works perfectly without me modifying httpd.conf or anything like that. I tried changing permissions on base to 777 and it made no difference.

    Can someone please help?

What are the permissions on the files themselves?  And what is the exact error message in the apache log?

I don't know if this is still an issue but I had the same problem and solved it by 'chowning' the .../html/base directory and files to match the user that was running the httpd (Apache) daemon.

This should fix the issue with your install.
