First, your log level is set way to low in php.ini.  In the README for BASE is the setting we recommend.

Second, most of these notice errors are fixed in the latest version of BASE.

      Thanks for a response Kevin...

      My php.ini was set to use: memory_limit = 32M (from 8M)
and, I can't find newer version of BASE from TSL-3.0 releases srpms,
(so I use BASE-1.3.5(marie) from TSL-2.2 stable); However,
I trying a new way with installing the BASE-1.3.8(jodie) and I get
      this following message...

Warning: NewBASEDBConnection() [function.NewBASEDBConnection]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 501 is not allowed to access /home/httpd/sites/adodb/ owned by uid 0 in /home/httpd/sites/base/includes/ on line 565

Warning: NewBASEDBConnection(/home/httpd/sites/adodb/ [function.NewBASEDBConnection]: failed to open stream: Success in /home/httpd/sites/base/includes/ on line 565

Warning: NewBASEDBConnection() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/httpd/sites/adodb/' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /home/httpd/sites/base/includes/ on line 565

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ADOLoadCode() in /home/httpd/sites/base/includes/ on line 575

there is anyone can tell what was going on? and how to solve this problem? help...

May I ask what TSL is?  The reason you are getting the error is that some type of protection, "SAFE MODE", is blocking access to the adodb files.

QUOTE: "May I ask what TSL is?"
TSL stands for Trustix Secure Linux the OS I've used.

The problem is on the variable 'safe_mode' in the php.ini file.
After i set it to 'Off' everything works with no problem. by the way
is everything ok while I set it to 'Off'?

When I try to install Image_Canvas-0.3.1, the system told me..
"No handlers for package.xml version 2.0"
whats happening? and how to solve this? so I can install it
      successfully?! (^^!)

the problem is on the pear version that TSL-3.0 used, it's quite old.
the solution is upgrade it to newer version.

      thanks (^^,)
