#145 Purpose of sensor.hostname in schema

Hi -

Until a recent upgrade to BASE 1.2.6, BASE has been
working well. Apparently, though, there has been a
change in behaviour and hostnames (e.g.
'sensor1.bris.ac.uk') are no longer acceptable values
for sensor.hostname, otherwise baseIP2long() fails if
they cannot be resolved.

This is annoying.

This bug is actually the same as 1545885 ; I've just gone a little further into the 'why'. :-)

It appears that base_qry_alert.php is updating the BASE cache for the sensor hostname.

Could you check out the CVS version? Or just put single quotes around $ip32 on line 158 of includes/base_net.inc.php and see if the error goes away.

    Thanks
