Secmic is a live Linux security distribution that may be used by security professionals or for educational purposes. It is free to download, and always will be. It comprises over 200 security oriented open source applications and maintains Ubuntu/Kubuntu update compatibility; meaning you will be able to receive security updates directly from the Ubuntu/Kubuntu repositories. b43 / wl hybrid compatibility is included with this Remastersys backup.
Our mission is to provide the most up-to-date Ubuntu/Kubuntu base possible, while also providing a tool set of security applications that enable security professionals and educators to test for security related issues on networks, servers and workstations.
Alternate install packages allow many custom install options not available with traditional live media. Package installation includes all Secmic apps, menus and boot logo.
The default password for Secmic Live should be changed after installation with the "passwd" command. Enter KDE by issuing the "startx" command after login.
