Sometimes it is necessary to scroll forward/back. I would be grateful if ALT-LEFT and ALT-RIGHT could be optionally enabled via the config files.
admitting forward/backward navigation in the SEB browser would indeed be
a new feature but non-trivial because this would require a browser history
in the XulRunner/Gecko component. We well discuss this but I must say that
during an exam, the system should offer a secure navigation,
therefore the LMS (Learning Management System) usually offers Forward
and Back buttons in the quiz/exam pages for that purpose.
If you generally allow forward/backward in SEB,
this could lead to some dangerous situations such as
sending a form twice, or getting out of the exam prematurely.
To address your concerns, the feature should be a configurable parameter. I was pleased to see that the feature has been added as a configurable parameter to the latest SEB Mac release. Very much hoping it can be added to the PC release too.
To help you understand why we need this, we use SEB as a copy protection aid in exams with feedback. The feedback sometimes includes links to helpful website to help the student Since the current release does not support pop-ups, we end up in a situation where if someone clicks on a link they can never go back.
