For an assessment we would need the ability to disable inline pdf viewing inline. Students need to download a pdf form, complete an exercise and upload it as part of an exercise to ILIAS.

SEB should just download the file to the specified directory. The "defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool YES" flag can't be set anymore since Safari 5.1.

Is there some way for SEB to disable inline pdf support or is it a general (new) WebKit limitation.

There is a way to disable inline pdf support. I can filter for specific MIME types, prevent WebKit from displaying them and download them instead.

For some future version of SEB I'm anyways planing an option for setting individually for MIME types if they should be downloaded and opened by which application. For the moment I will build in an option to disable inline PDF display and downloading them instead.

I just tried it in my SEB MacOSX development version 1.5 which I finally want to release in the next few days, so it works already :-)

    Greetings Daniel

It took a bit more time than expected, but now I released SEB for Mac OS X version 1.5. Besides other new features it has a setting for displaying PDF files inline or downloading them, so they can be opened with Acrobat or Preview.
