Seashore Version 0.5.1 (20100906). Mac OS X 10.7.2. Opening a PDF file results in a dialog asking the user at what resolution to import the PDF. Choosing various DPI settings does not cause the image to be imported at different pixel sizes. Instead, for example, choosing 300 DPI instead of 72 results in the same number of pixels, but zoomed out to the size the image would be if printed. If this is the intended behavior (which I would doubt), it isn't very useful. Because PDFs are scalable, it's more useful to be able to import it at a constant physical size, using the DPI to determine how many pixels will constitute the image, thus allowing the user to import the PDF at resolutions suitable for on-screen display vs. low-quality printing vs. full-quality printing, etc. I hope I've explained this well. If not, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
