Dear Sir!
Thank you for the very useful program!
I would like you to enable the program to keep the window position
in accordance to the setting in the SearcherPreferences.xml file,
so as it already does for WindowHeight and WindowWidth.
Thank you in advance.

    Dear Sir!
Please return the content of the error message
"Error accessing file ..." with the path and file names.
It helps to locate the problem folders and files those content caused the problem.
This part of the message was present in 1.0.38 and is gone in 1.0.39.
    Thank you in advance.

"Error accessing file ..." with the path and file names. - This should not have happened. I'll need to investigate. Can you send me an example screenshot with the differences in the two versions? I can try to replicate and see if I can find out the issue.

I'll look into the window position feature as well.

    Hello!
May be the screenshots are not very useful as I would not like to disclose paths etc.
The first two ones are from v. 1.0.38. The last one is from 1.0.39.
The possibilities to enlarge the error window and the error line count would be good to have too.
The question mark after "Multiline" looks a little bit unusual for programs.

    Hi,

Give the below executable a try. It should hopefully resolve the error message issue. I haven't had the chance to look at the window position issue yet. Hopefully soon.

    Hi!
The error message is back. Thank you.
It would be nice if it were possible to pick up the address
of the file shown in the error message by the right mouse button.

I see you have added the Russian language.
I would propose some style corrections -
    - see in the file attached to this email.

Thanks for your inputs. Helps others using it. Updated for window position and used the translations you provided. Let me know if it is right.

    Hi,
the window stays in position now! Thank you.
Some more translation - these things did not attract my attention before.

Thank you for further implementation of translating.

(You did not change some minor portions of the text.
Do not know why, but it is up to you, to do this.)

I have found some thing else for translation:
    "Open containing directory in explorer"
    ->
    "Открыть папку в Проводнике".

    Line:
    ->
    Строка:

    (Match(es): #)
    ->
    (Совпадение(я): #)

    Other things require programming.
    1. (already mentioned):
It would be nice if it were possible to pick up the address
of the file shown in the error message by the right mouse button.
    2. In the upper part of the search results window:
Divide the content in columns: Line / document text .

IMHO: The path to perfection lies in this direction :)

Thanks again for the additional improvements. Updated the application so you can have a check and let me know your thoughts.

Regarding the translations I missed, let me know again which they are and I can have a look.

For the other 2 additions (1. File in error message. 2. Divide content - Not clear about this one, so would appreciate additional details), could you raise a new ticket, as the original issue in this ticket was window position and some translations. It helps to keep things organised :)

SEARCHER.EXE is a top-notch program without which I cannot imagine further work on developing business applications with numerous source code files.
But, I have a question for the respected author: Am I doing something wrong in the configuration of the SEARCHER.EXE program or is it something else:

SEARCHER 2.1.1, as well as all older versions, which I used without problems with Windows XP and Windows 10, do not work well with my Windows 11 Pro version 24H2:
    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.
    - Display resolution 1600 x 1200
    - Display orientation Landscape
The problem is in the SearcherPreferences.xml file
    <windowleft>25.6</windowleft>
    <windowtop>25.6</windowtop>
Problem description in the PDF attachment.

    Hi Slobodan,

I tried reproducing the error and I do not see the searcher.exe file fail to load. The "preferences" file has the Top/Left/Height/Width listed as whole numbers (although internally they are handled as decimals). I edited the preferences file for the Top/Left values to the various values you tried, and each time it worked successfully. Does the application fail to start up for you? If yes, do you have any event logs for those failures?

I wonder if you have a dual monitor setup with different resolutions and if that is causing an issue.

Closing off ticket, since the original issue was resolved and additional issues could be raised through newer tickets if needed.
