Hi There, =20 I'm working with a seasoned freelancer (used to loading and operating the validator) who's just purchased a laptop with Windows XP and is having some trouble getting the validator to run. I have confirmed that they are using 7.8 (which is what we use here in the office, and we also use XP, so I know that's probably not the problem). I've also confirmed that they have the correct Java plug in (J2SE JRE, which I'm citing from memory, so if I may be a bit off on that number/letter sequence). =20 However, when they try to load the SDD file, the pop-up window that shows up as it is loading freezes. The window does show the correct line count four our SDD (467), so I'm stumped, since for all intents and purposes the SDD has been loaded. As you know, the pop-up window shows a cancel button when the SDD is loading and this button changes to say ok when it is done loading. In this case, the button continues to say cancel. Any thoughts or suggestions? =20 Thank you for your help on this matter. =20 Leah Tieger Managing Editor Schlager Group, Inc. 2501 Oak Lawn Ave. Ste. 245 Dallas, TX 75219 =20 Phone and Fax: 214-347-9469 =20 le...@sc... =20 |

Hi Murtuza, The - character has special meaning when it appears within [] in a regular expression. If you want to specify the character -, you will need to escape it. Try the following: <EMAIL>1 optional rgx="[\#a-z?0-9.\-_]+@ats[\#a-z?0-9.\-_]{0,70}" </EMAIL> Regarding your other questions: 2) I don't believe SGML tags are allows to contain ampersands. 3) I don't believe SGML tags are allowed to begin with numerals. Select SDD Development | View SDDTypes... The regular expression used to restrict tags for each type is listed in the table at the top of the dialog. Hope that helps, Jeff On Thu, 2005-12-15 at 10:40 +0000, Murtuza Khetty wrote: > > I'm using SD Validator for the first time and am using the SGML type. > > I have a few queries, which i have not been able to handle > > > 1. Hi, The new version is available for download from sourceforge. I will update the webpages in the next day or two. 1) Uses attributes to distinguish ambiguous tags when possible. 2) Changes to Alias mechanism: added import and export ability; enlarged size of prefix and suffix input and added cut/copy/paste. 3) Display child list for validation errors and warnings. Helps to identify OR and BLOCK elements in the SDD. 4) Added new SDD validation errors and warnings. The purpose of these is to give more guidance to SDD writers. New conditions include: blocks with a single child; first element in an or tag is optional; an or block as the direct child of another or block; and each or block in a list of or blocks should have a different tag as its first child. 5) Changed rules for template generation. Items with frequencies of "no order" will not appear in generated templates. 6) Changed parsing table generation technique from SLR to LR(1). Also changed how items are created when no-order elements are siblings and updated LR(1) algorithm with code to prevent spurious shirt/reduce conflicts. The spurious reductions are now blocked when closure is applied to a goto items. 7) Added -Xms and -Xmx switches to launcher script files. 8) Using rc2 version of browser launcher lib. 9) Corrected problem with exception when saving grammar compilation error tab. |

Allows concatenated documents to be treated as if they were in separate files. 5) SGML Type: Added configurable property: Separator tag. Allows concatenated documents to be treated as if they were in separate files. 6) SGML Type: Added configurable properties for empty attributes and unquoted attributes. 7) SGML Type: Attribute values that are unquoted but contain a trailing single or double quote will throw an error. This release includes the following bug fixes: 1) Fixed problem with range frequencies. 2) Fixed problem with multiple ? frequencies. 3) HTML Type: Corrected problems with normalization and attribute recognition. |

Hi, Sorry it's been so long since the last release. I'll try to do better in the future. This release adds new functionality for character entity insertion and help file browsing as well as bug fixes. List of changes: This release includes the following feature additions: 1) Local help viewer implemented. User now has choice between local viewer or browser. 2) Implmeneted char entity manager. 3) Implemented char entity insertion. This release includes the following bug fixes: 1) When closing the application, the close operation will be cancelled if the user hits cancel on a file save option. 2) Fix for validation problem. Data outside the tag structure was not being flagged as an error. 3) Fix for problem of premature end of file during validation. (Part of this fix requires changes to sddtypes lexer tables. This has been done for the XML and SGML types.) ===== Jeff Chapman Software Engineer Check out SDValidator--a free validation and text editing tool at http://sdvalidator.sourceforge.net __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
