[Sdvalidator-users] Validator Trouble Shooting

I'm working with a seasoned freelancer (used to loading and operating
the validator) who's just purchased a laptop with Windows XP and is
having some trouble getting the validator to run. I have confirmed that
they are using 7.8 (which is what we use here in the office, and we also
use XP, so I know that's probably not the problem). I've also confirmed
that they have the correct Java plug in (J2SE JRE, which I'm citing from
memory, so if I may be a bit off on that number/letter sequence).

However, when they try to load the SDD file, the pop-up window that
shows up as it is loading freezes. The window does show the correct line
count four our SDD (467), so I'm stumped, since for all intents and
purposes the SDD has been loaded. As you know, the pop-up window shows a
cancel button when the SDD is loading and this button changes to say ok
when it is done loading. In this case, the button continues to say
cancel. Any thoughts or suggestions?
