#7 Game gets stuck between levels

Game tends to get stuck between levels on occasion.
Happens when the game advances to the next level
even though there is an unshot asteroid on the screen,
the next level is then blank, but the occasional swarmer,
spinner and powerup still appear. After several minutes
the game will sometimes get back on track.
