Hello, I recently wanted to compile the sdljava library from source. As I tried to compile it I got various errors of this shape: SDLVideo_wrap.c:854:15: error: conflicting types for ‘SDL_MapRGB’ /usr/include/SDL/SDL_video.h:492:32: note: previous declaration of ‘SDL_MapRGB’ was here With the help of a friend I was able to modify the source so that it would compile. I'm aware that this is probably not a clean solution and I just tested it on my local system (Gentoo Linux with kernel 3.7.10), but a developer of this project might find this patch useful and knows how to properly integrate it. Best regards, Lennart |

I'm currently trying to use some simple openGL to draw a shape: SDLMain.init(SDLMain.SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING); mainSurface = SDLVideo.setVideoMode(640, 480, 24, SDLVideo.SDL_HWACCEL | SDLVideo.SDL_OPENGL); mainGL = mainSurface.getGL(); mainGL.glEnable(GL.GL_TEXTURE_2D); mainGL.glClearColor(0f, 0f, 0f, 0f); mainGL.glViewport(0, 0, 640, 480); mainGL.glClear(GL.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); mainGL.glMatrixMode(GL.GL_PROJECTION); mainGL.glLoadIdentity(); mainGL.glOrtho(0f, 640, 480, 0f, -1f, 1f); mainGL.glMatrixMode(GL.GL_MODELVIEW); mainGL.glLoadIdentity(); mainGL.glColor3f(255, 255, 0); mainGL.glBegin(GL.GL_QUADS); { mainGL.glVertex2d(50, 150); mainGL.glVertex2d(150, 150); mainGL.glVertex2d(50, 50); mainGL.glVertex2d(50, 550); } mainGL.glEnd(); mainSurface.flip(); However, when I run the code I get an error: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ... libgljava.so: libGLEW.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I notice that the latest version of GLEW available is 1.5.3, which I have, but it still doesn't seem to work. Is there some way to fix this so that I can use openGL? Thanks, Harry Wagstaff |

I'm having trouble figuring out how to use the SWIG pointer types that some sdljava methods return. To get the equivalent of C SDL_GetKeyState() call, I'm calling SWIG_SDLEvent.SDL_GetKeyState(), which returns a SWIGTYPE_p_unsigned_char. I've used SDL in C/C++ programs, where I'd normally use SDL_GetKeyState() in code like this: Uint8 *ks = SDL_GetKeyState(NULL); if ( ks[SDLK_UP] ) { /* handle Up key */ } ... where the SDL keystate values like SDLK_UP index into an array. However, the following Java code: SWIGTYPE_p_unsigned_char ks = SWIG_SDLEvent.SDL_GetKeyState(null); if ( ks[SDLKeyValues.SDLK_UP] != 0) { /* handle Up key */ } results in the compiler error, "The type of the expression must be an array type, but it resolved to SWIGTYPE_p_unsigned_char." What I want to know is, after calling SWIG_SDLEvent.SDL_GetKeyState(), how do you use what it returns to inspect the state of the individual keys? |

Hi All, I have checked out the latest copy of the sdljava source code and made a windows build. I am getting following error while calling SDLVideo.*createYUVOverlay*(codecContext.width, codecContext.height, SWIG_SDLVideoConstants.*SDL_YV12_OVERLAY*, screen); Error: at sdljava.x.swig.SWIG_SDLVideoJNI.SDL_CreateYUVOverlay(*Native Method*) at sdljava.x.swig.SWIG_SDLVideo.SDL_CreateYUVOverlay(*SWIG_SDLVideo.java:144 *) at sdljava.video.SDLVideo.createYUVOverlay(*SDLVideo.java:777*) at com.medialive.italia.app.SDLTest.main(*SDLTest.java:106*) I request your kind help to sort this problem. I am willing to buy the support from sdljava community to fix all the Overlay issues. Best Regards |

Hi everyone, I have two questions concerning SDL functions that I can't seem to find interfaces for, other than the SWIG interfaces. So, first of all, is there a good way to make a call to SDL_GetKeyState other than using SWIG_SDLEvent? And if not, how do I deal with the whole SWIGTYPE_p_int thing? I'm not sure how to get that data into a usable Java int. Second, is there an interface (other than the SWIG one) to the SDL_GL_* functions? The SWIG one seems to work fine, but I just wanted to be sure there wasn't a more acceptable way. Thanks! |

Does the path include the DLL or stop at the directory it is contained within? It should really be the latter. Also, you might want to try putting the DLL inside C:\Program Files\Java\{JRE/JDK}\bin\ and C:\Program Files\Java\{JDK}\jre\bin\. I'd advise putting the SDL libraries in these directories too (if required). Hello. I am having trouble getting SDLJava to work in my projects due to the fact that it has trouble finding SDLJava.dll. I have included the library and paths, and ran the project from both netBeans and JCreator, but neither will work and both give me the same error. Native code library failed to load. java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\sdljava-0.9.1-win32-bin\sdljava-0.9.1\lib\SDLJava.dll: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed I have already set the path with -Djava.library.path=<PATH_TO_DLL>, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be much appreciated. -- -Sam Joseph Hobson |

hi, what's the current state of sdljava? there was not any release since 4 years. at the same time there were a few patches send to the list at least a new source only release with all the bugfix happened since the last release would be useful (even better than a version with known and fixed bugs). what's the plan? is there any roadmap? -- Levente "Si vis pacem para bellum!" |

It looks like a problem loading the native libraries. Without more details its hard to say. If it loaded the library but THEN got the error it may be that the library your sdljava was complied and linked against is different from what your loading there. -Ivan/ On Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 4:57 AM, Toni Peter <teh...@go...>wrote: > I'm trying to run my project with the following code: > public class HelloSDL { > > static { > System.loadLibrary("SDL"); > System.loadLibrary("SDLJava"); > } > > public static void main( String[] args ) { > try { > SDLSurface screen = SDLVideo.setVideoMode(640,480,0,1); > } catch (SDLException e) { > e.printStackTrace(); > } > } > } > > First, he couldn't load the library and dependent libraries, but it works > now ... > But If I run the code, an error occurs: > Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: > sdljava.x.swig.SWIG_SDLVideoJNI.SDL_SetVideoMode(IIIJ)J > at sdljava.x.swig.SWIG_SDLVideoJNI.SDL_SetVideoMode(Native Method) > at sdljava.x.swig.SWIG_SDLVideo.SDL_SetVideoMode(SWIG_SDLVideo.java:38) > at sdljava.video.SDLVideo.setVideoMode(SDLVideo.java:332) > at HelloSDL.main(HelloSDL.java:14) > Why is this? > Thanks for any help. > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's > challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great > prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > _______________________________________________ > sdljava-users mailing list > sdl...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sdljava-users > > -- -Ivan/ |
