#77 writing assembler directives in c

can someone pls tell me how to define assembly directives in C. i use mide51 ide, sdcc compiler, asem51 assembler. i want to write inline assembly. the sdcc is not recognising EQU directive. e.g EQU var1 r7.
pls help.

    I doubt you're still looking for the answer after a year, but I want to close this at least with some comment.

    SDCC does not use or support assem51 assembler but comes with its own variant of ASxxxx. This assembler use '=' for equates in the following form:
    var1 = r7
