Both functions need "generic" pointers as arguments. These pointers are 3 bytes long. "The highest order byte of the generic pointers contains the data space information" (SDCCUdoc-7.html). See: _memset.c, _memcpy.c, _gptrget.c, _gptrput.c, SDCCUdoc-7.html.
