Sandeep started a shell for AVR in SDCC, but the bulk of it is not
coded, so it won't generate code. Do a search for AVRGCC on the web
and you should find the GCC port that does AVR. I've been using it under
Windoze with some 2313's. I'd be glad to help if you run into any difficulties.
I put a few bits of AVR code on my web site too.
