I'm quite good at mangaling my terminology. To me a regression test suite
is a set of tests that verify that things are how they should be, which in
this case means testing to see if a set of C code compiles, runs, and
produces the correct result. It's a regression test suite as opposed to a
test suite as it is also there to make sure that things don't get worse.
Whenever a bug is found and fixed a test is added to the suite to make
sure the bug doesn't creep back in.
It's quite useful for sdcc as a developer can make changes to the core,
then run the regression tests to make sure that the changes haven't broken
any of the ports.
