Dai Yuwen I had already tried 'compiling the source under cygwin' also (./configure, make, make install ....). Even that didn't work. The result was the same. Sandeep had suggested trying compilation under cygwin b19 version. Only thing is I don't know how to get that particular version of cygwin. Presently I am trying to compile the sdcc source under Borland c++ ver 4.5 or 5 Wish me luck.
