Philipp,

can you give me some instructions how to create / install the hurd VM, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel?

Would it make sense to create a hurd snapshot build VM?

With a few minor bugfixes (already commited to trunk a few days ago),
sdcc builds and works on Debian GNU/Hurd on x86. I tested it in a
qemu-kvm virtual machine. Regression testing is rather slow there, so
I just ran the host, ucz80, ucr2k, ucgbz80 and hc08 tests though.
IMO, this is another reason to consider doing the next sdcc release
soon: AFAIK the Debian GNU/Hurd people still want to have Hurd as as
officially supported Debian port for the next release. _If_ we can
make an sdcc release soon _and_ the sdcc package in Debian gets
updated in time, we would be able to make it into the first official
Debian GNU/Hurd release.
