I have just ordered a new box with Hardy installed, due here in a few days, and I don't know what kernel version that I'll get (I've sent an email asking). If Hardy is now being shipped with 2.6.24-18-generic as default, wouldn't a package be needed? (Looking at the Ubuntu forums, this updated kernel broke not only Scramdisk, but some other apps/features as well. Some rolled back to 2.6.24-16-generic to fix it). Sorry for the newbie question, but if I do get a install with 2.6.24-18-generic installed, can I roll back to 2.6.24-16 to get Scramdisk to work until a compatible package is developed? Stewart |
